Timberwolf Spinners Handmade in Spring Mills, PA
From sixty years of doing it

Fishing Tips

Three things that will do more for your catch rate than any lure change.

  1. Reach the fish

A spinner only works where the fish are holding. Timberwolf spinners are weighted for this reason, as noted on the back of the package. In fast or deep water, add one, two or more split shot to the leader to reach the bottom. Fishing this close to the structure costs the occasional lure, but it is where the fish are.

  2. Change the retrieve before you change the lure

Work through slow, medium, fast, smooth and erratic retrieves before concluding the spinner is wrong for the water. In cold conditions, slow the retrieve considerably.

  3. Match presentation to conditions

Species differ in what they will take, and the same fish will respond differently from one day to the next. Treat each outing as its own set of conditions.
